How Do I Explain Make It. MSP. to Others?
Anyone may have an interest in the work of the Make It. MSP. initiative. However, there are three primary audiences that are the focus of most communications across the initiative, including:
- People who are working to attract & retain talent to their organizations
- People who are considering moving to (or away from) the Greater MSP region
- People who are actively participating in the execution of the Make It. MSP. initiative
The entire initiative is focused on talent. But your message might be adapted slightly based on what your audience cares about most - such as whether they are the ones doing the recruiting or the ones being recruited.
People who are working to attract and retain talent to their organizations
This audience cares about doing their job more effectively. They are looking for practical solutions that can help them improve, such as tools, insights, tips, best practices, relationships, and more. For this audience, it's important to communicate that the Make It. MSP. initiative is designed to help them succeed. How? By providing solutions that help them and help the region at the same time by adding to the region's overall pool of available workers.
People who are considering moving to (or away from) the Greater MSP region
This audience may find the Make It. MSP. initiative interesting, but what they primarily care about is their own life. They are concerned with priorities like their career, economic opportunity, the other people they love and care for, their passions, sense of purpose, and more. For this audience, it's important to communicate that the Make It. MSP. initiative exists to help them connect to the things they care about, such as finding open jobs or welcoming communities.
People who are actively participating in the execution of the Make It. MSP. initiative
This audience probably knows a great deal about a specific project of the Make It. MSP. initiative but may be unaware that this project is part of a larger, more intentional effort. For this audience, it's important to communicate the results of their own work in the Make It. MSP. initiative as well as how that work is leading to other outcomes and connected to the work of thousands of others across the region. Efforts like this training are being provided to improve communications.
